Feeling very flamboyant today, just watched a documentary on Netflix on a very fabulous lady named Iris who still influences fashion in her 90s. Anyway I was inspired by how out there she was so decided to dress up. Wearing a headband from Accesorize, shoes from “and other stories” and a matching top and skirt from Miss Selfridge. Got lovely feedback from people (went to the Imperial War Museum and Foundling Hospital Museum today), one lady even told me congratulations!

Ophelia

Some images from A-Level. This time slightly blurry as they were on film. I tried to shoot Charlie as a modern Ophelia in our school swimming pool. Slight disaster as the pool was double booked! The swimming class that usually ran were kind enough to let us use half the pool but it was really funny as the water kept making the flowers float away as they were swimming so hard! Anyway, hope you enjoy.
Outfit of the day 5
Another outfit of the day. Feeling prim and 1950s. Visiting family so wanted to look my best. Wearing vintage jewellery, monsoon cardigan and h&m dress with unseen beyond retro skirt.

More photography of Charlie
Have lots of thumbnails from A-level photography left and don’t really know what to do with them hence the additional photos! These were shot in the local fields where I live and our local church. Tried long maxi skirts, sheer lace with beads and floral crowns for a romantic feel. Hope you enjoy!
Water colours
I’m uploading some watercolours from a painting module at uni that I did, they’re based around scientific close-ups of nerve cells and veins. I tried to abstract what I saw so it could stand for art in it’s own right. Hope you enjoy!

Outfit of the day 3
Apologies for the slightly moody face! I’m still getting used to being photographed rather than being the photographer! Wearing a h&m top with tesco leggings and converse. Thought I’d try some lilac lippie to give it an edge. Love the shirt as its floaty without being girly. Feeling a bit of a tomboy today!
Photography of Charlie
Some more photography of Charlie from A-level, dressed in a mixture of zara, vintage and new look. She’s very photogenic and confident in front of the camera and a pleasure to shoot. Went out into the woods near where I live and took some shots. Tried to make the shots look as romantic and ethereal as possible. Tried to catch the like behind Charlie to add a ‘fresh’ feel. Hope you enjoy!

Marian Claydon
Went to the Marian Claydon exhibition at the fashion and textiles museum in London. Little known gem of a Museum, it costs £9 entry and is absolutley tiny. Marian Claydon was a designer who shot to fame with her cool silk tye die prints in the 1960s and 70s, she died in 2015 so the exhibition was held in retrospect to celebrate her work. The silks were beautiful, artworks in their own rights and vibrant. The dresses were glamorous and recalled historical fashion and 1920s flapper dresses as well as being of their time and bohemian. I urge you to go and discover the museum for yourself!
Lip Reviews

Two reviews coming up of a matte lipstick by revlon and a lipgloss by b. .

Bought B. Brilliant Lipgloss in Morello at £6.99. It goes on as a semi-sheer gloss and provides a rich berry stain. It wears well throughout the day but the pigmentation is poor in the first place. For a gloss it’s surprisingly moisturising so I might use it as a quick replacement for a balm. I think it’s overpriced for what it is and would only wear it as an overcoat over a dark lippie. For value I’d give it 5/10 and for quality again 5/10. Won’t be repurchasing!

Revlon ultra matte lipstick in passion at £8.99 (I bought it in a 3 for 2 offer at Tesco) provides good striking coverage. The lipstick glides on and is easy to apply. The colour is a rich red and I prefer it to conventional lipsticks as I find it easier to put on. One criticism would be that the lipstick doesn’t ‘set’ as it were and wears off throughout the day and leaves smudges. I expect most matte liquid lipsticks to ‘set’ as it were and this one doesn’t which is disappointing. For value I would give it 6/10 and for quality 6/10. Although I’ll wear it again I probably wouldn’t repurchase the product as it wears off throughout day to day activities.

L'oreal contour palette

Had a haul in Superdrug (hence the previous make up posts) and thought I would review L’Oreal Paris Infallible Sculpt Palette Light/Medium at £9.99. Its a creme to powder formula which is brilliant for blending. The bronzer is lovely and matte and very natural looking, works a dream on the hollows of you temples and just under your cheekbones. The highlighter is again matte which is great as most highlighters are sparkly which always gets on my nerves. The pack also comes with a little illustration on how to contour which is a great way to get the ‘Kim Kardashian’ contour. Overall for value I’d give the product 7/10 for value and 9/10 for quality, L’oreal is always a brand you know you can trust!
Portrait of Georgina
Hello again! Thought I’d upload some portraits I did of a girl called Georgina for A-level. The shoot was inspired by Gabriel Rossetti and I shot her in the style of a Pre-Raphaelite beauty. Wanted the shots to look languid and full of ennui! She’s a very talented photographer herself as well as model! I include her facebook photography page if your curious to see the work she’s done, she’s even worked for MUA! https://www.facebook.com/georginalukephotography/

B. at Superdrug buget palette
Just bought B. Creative Art Edition Vol. 2 Eye Essentials Night for £9.99. Thrilled with the price, it contains three powder eye shadows, One cream eye shadow, mascara, two brow powders and brow wax (along with applicator brushes. The cream eye shadow, Marylebone, is a really subtle gold, it is very nice quality and lasts well. The other three powder eye shadows are Chelsea (pale grey), Kensington (dark grey) and Knightsbridge (rich green). Lasting power is again good. Chelsea is a tiny bit lacking in pigment but that is about it. The brow powder and wax is nice quality and works well. The most disappointing product in the set is the mascara. It claims to lengthen and define your lashes but the brush is tiny and very thin and does not result in a very strong look. For value, I would give in 9/10. For quality I would give it a good 7/10.
